CHANDIGARH: The National Gatka Association of India, affiliated with the World Gatka Federation, will confer three elite Gatka awards to renowned Gatka personalities, best players and coaches with shield, shawl and roll of honour who had made invaluable contributions in the field of martial art Gatka.

CHANDIGARH: Aiming to promote the Gatka sport across the country at a grass root level, the National Gatka Association of India (NGAI), an oldest registered national sports federation (NSF), will host the first Federation Gatka Cup, from April 21-23, 2023, at DAVIET Jalandhar, Punjab. The national tournament would witness participation from 15 states in the under-22 age category in which about 300 boys and girls would compete for the crown and medals.

In girls' category, Chandigarh won the overall championship while Punjab came second and New Delhi girls third.

CHANDIGARH: Indian ancient martial art 'Gatka' competitions will be the center of special attraction during 4th Khelo India Youth Games to be held at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex in Panchkula, Haryana from June 4 to June 13 in which boys and girls teams from 16 states will show their fighting skills from June 4 to June 6.
